Nicky Everett - Founding partner of The Lift Creative Services and independent arts manager

Nicky trained in Arts Management at DeMontfort University, launching straight into a string of placements, voluntary and contract work for The RSC, ArtsFest, Arts and Business and two West Midlands based Events Management companies, giving her a great grounding and lots of valuable experience.

She then worked as Marketing and Education Administrator for Anjali Dance Company [2002 - 2004], Marketing Officer for Motionhouse Dance Theatre [2004 - 2007], Marketing Manager for ACE dance and music [2007 - now], Head of Marketing (maternity cover) for Candoco Dance Company [June 2010 - March 2011].

Motionhouse case study: Motionhouse saw an increase in the company’s profile, which won them the audience award at The National Dance Awards in January 06, having called to action thousands of fans to vote for the company via text message. Her legacy includes; revamping the Motionhouse brand, uniting all elements of the company’s powerful visual identity, developing innovative ways of selling the work to venues, a string of successful audience retention projects and the creation of a new website and related strategic email campaigns attracting over 700 visitors to the site a week. These elements resulted in multiples of sell out shows and a sharp upward trajectory in ticket sales. She still manages their web and design projects.
